Baby remember my name……
Following the success of their sell-out production of in
2002, Ballet West are letting their hair down again with “Fame
-The Musical” this summer.

The show will combine these talented students’
commitment to professional standards with the high-energy
jazz routines of this famous Broadway and West End musical.
The cast uses professionals from the West End stage and young
performers from England combined with the outstanding vocal
and dance talent from the Ballet West school. “Fame”
is choreographed by Jordi Guitart, head of jazz at the school,
with Nick Fogarty as musical director and vocal coach.
Colin Charles will perform the central role of Tyrone Jackson.
Colin has performed lead roles in many West End productions
such as Mistopholees in “Cats”, John in “Miss
Saigon” and Four Eyed Moe in “Five Guys Named
Moe”. He has also worked as a singer with English National
Opera in several major productions
“Fame - The Musical”, with book by José
Fernandez, lyrics by Jaques Levy and music by Steve Margoshes
was written after the well-known Alan Parker film and subsequent
TV series. It covers the same themes, following a group of
students as they move through four years of growing up at
the famous High School of Performing Arts in New York.
The show features the song “Fame”, which has
become an iconic anthem of the early eighties as well as many
other infectious songs. This production promises to be an
exuberant celebration of youthful talent that is not to be
missed.
COLIN CHARLES as Tyrone Jackson
Colin Charles was trained at The Ballet Rambert School in
Twickenham. Since leaving he has performed in various productions
for English National Opera as an actor/dancer. His first West
End musical was “Cats” in which he performed the
roles of Corricapat cat and Mr Mistofolees.
He performed with Wayne Sleep and his company on tour and
at London’s Dominion Theatre as soloist dancer/singer.
Other West End credits include “King” at the Piccadilly
Theatre and “Children of Eden” at the Prince Edward
Theatre.
He played the role of Four-eyed Moe in “Five Guys Named
Moe” at the Lyric Theatre in London, Judah in “Joseph
and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”, opposite Jason
Donavon and Phillip Schofield, at the London Palladium, the
role of John in “Miss Siagon” at the Theatre Royal,
Drury Lane and the role of T Bone and understudy to the part
of Joe in “Carmen Jones”.
Colin has also travelled around the world as a production
singer for Costa Cruise Lines and as a choreographer/singer
for Celebrity Cruises. As a singer/songwriter he will
be releasing a single later this year, and is co-founder/director
of Impact International Management (Artist Management).
