Ballet West continues the tradition of performing musical theatre to complement its highly respected classical work. This year this young company presents the most well-known of Broadway dance musicals "A Chorus Line". With the same successful team that toured "Fame" in recent years, "A Chorus Line" will show these classically talented young dancers can also sing and act.

"A Chorus Line" is a celebration of those unsung heroes of Musical Theatre, the chorus dancers. It takes the audience through the final audition run by the director, Zach, for a new musical. The potential performers are put through a vigorous series of dance combinations and are asked to give a personal history of how they came to be in show business and what are their hopes and aspirations. As Zach calls on each of them they react in every possible way from bravado to reticence.
From childhood on, their memories emerge, blending into a seamless series of musical numbers and monologues, some humorous, some poignant and in the case of Cassie, Zach's former lover, some very personal. Carried by some of Marvin Hamlisch's most memorable tunes, including "What I did for Love", "One" and "I can do that" this is an entertaining night of pure theatre not to be missed.
