International Summer Intensive
Ballet West offers short courses of intensive dance training in the idyllic surroundings of Ichrachan House, Taynuilt. Courses are run during the Summer holidays in July.
Ballet West’s International Summer Intensive runs as a week long course where students from around the world are invited to take classes with mentors from Ballet West’s vocational programmes. Classes are led by well-respected dance professionals such as Jonathan Barton, Jordi Guitart, Indra Reinholde, Natasha Barton, Sayward Harris ten Hove and Angelique Harris.
Students are offered an insight into Ballet West’s system of training which includes daily classes in classical ballet, repertoire, pointe work, contemporary, jazz and choreographic skills. Students will also participate in a variety of body conditioning classes which Ballet West has developed through its vocational programmes.
Classes will include: Progressing Ballet Technique, Applied Physical Training for Ballet and Ballet West High Performance Lower School’s Cross Training methodology.
Full board accommodation from Sunday to Thursday night inclusive is provided free of charge. Students on the International Summer Intensive course should arrive on the Sunday evening prior to the course. The classes begin on Monday morning and culminate in a display for parents on Friday afternoon. Students who apply to take part in multiple weeks may board over the weekends.
