Associates

This exciting programme attracts talented students who either aspire to have a career in professional dance or who enjoy and benefit from lessons with top class professionals.

The programme delivers courses in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee and brings together students of outstanding promise who aspire to a career in dance. Glasgow and Dundee students start at age eight and Edinburgh students come through the doors as young as six. Integral all courses is the provision of top class teaching; All have an emphasis on ballet.

The ethos of all the courses is to complement the teaching that students receive elsewhere, while offering them the experience to train alongside professionals.

Associates meet other children from across the country who share their passion for dance. A highlight of the programme is the opportunity to perform with the Ballet West Company in major productions which, in  recent years, have included Romeo and Juliet, The Nutcracker, Swan Lake and Giselle.

The Dundee Associate programme is held in the Space Theatre's purpose built studios. Students study Classical Ballet, Repertoire, Pointe, Contemporary, and Body Conditioning. The programme is supported by a dedicated team of teachers with exceptional performance and teaching experience including Benoit Egloff, Sindy Monson, Winifred Jamieson, Laura Mumby and Kim Elliot.

All of our tutors bring with them experience, knowledge and ability to inspire the next generation. We offer a variety of styles from ballet, pointe and jazz technique to contemporary, lyrical, repertoire and commercial with some yoga for additional core strength and flexibility. Our focus is on technique and artistry which we hope will enhance the wonderful training students receive in their own dance schools."
