Outreach & Short Courses

Outreach Programme

Ballet West is proud to continue its long-standing commitment to bring dance to more people in the West of Scotland. A wide range of classes are taught throughout Argyll and Bute, and there are classes for all ages starting from 2 years old.

Classes are taught by highly qualified and experienced staff including Ballet West Principal, Gillian Barton, Ballet West's Resident Lecturers and Company Members Sara-Maria Smith, Jonathan Barton and Kelly McCole and Ballet West graduate Amanda Sloss.

The end-of-year part-time show has now become a feature of Oban theatre as the learning gained throughout the year is brought together in a feast of dance at the Corran Halls in June.

Ballet West founder, Gillian Barton, said "We are very pleased to reach out to communities beyond our base at Taynuilt and bring dance to as wide a range of people as possible. Our teachers are enthusiastic, motivational and talented individuals who love dancing and teaching."

In the future it is hoped to involve more rural and island communities within Argyll and further afield.
